Climate Change

We understand our joint responsibility to reduce the carbon intensity of our mines and supply chain and distribution channels. We are individually and corporately responsible for supporting global and Canadian initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions and increase energy efficiencies. Over the past two years, we have assessed and reassessed our climate-related risks and opportunities to ensure we build resilience and maximize its opportunities.

These efforts and progress reporting mechanisms conform with the Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”) framework.

Please see our 2022 Climate Change Report for additional details regarding our efforts to achieve our target. We will provide further information as our carbon intensity reduction plans materialize. Our efforts to reduce diesel use through increasing operational efficiency and reducing unnecessary idling continue to yield material benefits.

We are targeting a 15% reduction in Carbon Intensity compared with our 2019 baseline emissions by 2030
