Conuma Resources Achieves Major Milestone at Quintette Preparation Plant

February 10, 2025

Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, February 6, 2025 – Conuma Resources Ltd. (“Conuma”) has achieved a significant milestone with the installation and commissioning of the second module at its Quintette Mine’s coal handling and preparation plant on January 27, 2025. The new module, with a throughput capacity of 400 ROM tonnes per hour, will operate continuously alongside the first module (450 tonnes per hour), which was commissioned in September 2024. This installation will allow coal preparation and loading to align with the production profile at Quintette and eliminate the backlog of accumulated ROM inventory.

“This marks another important step forward for Quintette,” said Brian Sullivan, Conuma’s CEO. “With the plant now capable of processing over 900 tonnes per hour, we have eliminated a significant bottleneck, allowing us to enhance efficiency and drive down production costs.” As of February 6, 2025, the second module had reached its nameplate capacity, with plant operations exceeding the 900 tonnes per hour rating.

“While some final commissioning and tuning work remains,” Sullivan added, “this increased capacity, combined with the activation of our drum product bypass later this month, will allow us to further reduce processing costs, accelerate inventory movement, and maintain the highest product quality.”
The final major infrastructure component at Quintette is the truck unloading facility, which will handle the transfer of ROM coal to the overland conveyor system. Despite delays caused by adverse winter weather conditions affecting concrete work and crane operations, the facility is nearing completion with commissioning is expected around February 15, 2025.
